What does the shopper actually see?

What does the shopper actually see?

You have carefully curated the plant range and thoughtfully arranged the shelves. But do shoppers actually see what you have in mind? In partnership with the Plants & Flowers Foundation, we used eye-tracking technology to study shopping behaviour at a European retail chain.

Main takeaways:

  1. Attention focuses at eye level.
  2. Colour is the first thing that catches the eye.
  3. Back panels are largely overlooked, regardless of what they show.
  4. Point-of-sale materials are effective but are often missing.
  5. Shoppers actively seek out information to help them decide.
